Alabama House of Representatives

The Alabama House of Representatives is made up of 105 members with each member representing a district of approximately 40,000 people. Each member is elected to a 4-year term and must be at least 21 years of age at the time of their election, have been a citizen of Alabama for 3 years, and have lived in their respective district for at least one year immediately preceding their election.

Users can use the House of Representatives page on the Alabama Legislature website to find out information about representatives, such as how to contact them, what committees they're on, and what legislation they've sponsored. There are also links to a livestream of meetings, HTML editions of various House Rules, such as those relating to House General Rules of Order & Procedure or House Rules Relating to Members, several calendars that cover when proposals may be heard, and more.

Users can easily access all of this information by either selecting the "House of Representatives" text box or by selecting the "House of Representatives" tab.

Alabama Senate

The Alabama Senate is made up of 35 Senators, following the Alabama Constitution that limits the Senate to no more than one-third and no less than one-fourth of the total membership of the Alabama House of Representatives. Having 35 members puts the Senate at one-third the size of the Alabama House of Representatives and each Senator represents a district of roughly 137,000 people. Similar to the Alabama House of Representatives, Senators in the Alabama Senate also serve 4 year terms.

Users can use the Alabama Senate page on the Alabama Legislature website to find information on their county's Senators, what committees they are in, and a district map of the Senate districts. Users can also find a livestream of meetings, as well as HTML versions of Senate Rules, such as Senate General Rules of Order or Rules Relating to Committees, and the Senate's Special Order Calendar

Similar to the House of Representatives, users can access information about the Senate by either selecting the "Senate" text box or the "Senate" tab on the Alabama Legislature home page.
