The Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program (ADAP) is part of the nation's federally-funded protection and advocacy system. It provides legal services to Alabamians with disabilities to protect, promote and expand their rights.
One of the programs offered by ADAP is the Client Assistance Program. This is a federally funded program that provides information, advice, and advocacy to people with disabilities who are applying for or receiving services provided by the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, the state's Independent Living Centers, and other programs funded by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Services they provide include:

The Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs provides a page with various legal assistance resources for veterans and their families.
Users can find links to various programs that help veterans and their families with civil matters, such as buying or renting a home or apartment, divorces and custody cases, wills and probate issues, and bankruptcy and other financial issues. These resources include Free Veteran Legal Clinics, Volunteer Lawyers Program, and a Self-Help Alabama Veterans Legal Guide.
These are links that veterans and their families can use to find legal assistance for various criminal matters, including DUIs, possession of a controlled substance, domestic violence, assault, and theft/robbery. Some of these resources include Veteran Treatment Courts, C-Vets Cumberland Veterans Legal Assistance, Guidebook for Incarcerated Veterans in Alabama, and the Veteran Justice Outreach (VJO) Program.
The Alabama Department of Senior Services provides a Legal Assistance Program that is a statewide system of legal professional who assist older adults with personal legal issues. They provide advice and counseling, legal representation, legal research, preparation of legal documents, negotiation, legal education, and community outreach to Alabama's older adults. Works on a non-fee-generating basis and strives to protect and secure the rights, benefits, and dignity of adults age 60 and older.
