COVID-19 Response Announcement

In light of the University of Alabama’s response to the on-going national health situation, the Bounds Law Library is announcing several changes to services.

Library Communication

The Law Library has launched this blog that will be used to communicate and archive information about Law Library services over the coming weeks.  It will also offer several options to passively receive updates (via email, Twitter, etc.) and may be accessed on the Law Library’s home page: http://library.law.ua.edu/

Information from the University will continue to be available at UA’s designated website: https://healthinfo.ua.edu/

Spring Break Hours

The Law Library has revised hours of operation over Spring Break as follows:  

From Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20 the Law Library will be closed to members of the public. A Reference Librarian will be available in the library from noon to 5pm to assist faculty and students.

The Library will be closed the weekends bracketing Spring Break (March 14 and 15 and March 21 and 22).

Virtual Reference

After Spring Break, the Law Library will be launching a “virtual” reference service.  This service will allow members of the law school community the opportunity to schedule a meeting and remotely interact with a reference librarian.  Law Librarians will continue to be available during regular business hours via email.

FDLP Statement

The Bounds Law Library is a selective Federal Depository Library. Due to the ongoing health emergency, however, public access to FDLP materials and the library is limited at this time.
