Spading Resources

This is a guide for the student editors of the law journals at Alabama Law.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan Policies

Please do not place ILL requests for books that are available from another library within Tuscaloosa’s city limits, including the main university's libraries.

Please do not place ILL requests for books that are currently checked out to another member of your spading team.

If you are unable to locate a source after using the Spading Resources tab to the left and asking a reference librarian for help

  • Please use this form to place an interlibrary loan request.
    • You will need your law email username and password to log in.
    • Please include as much information as you have about the source you are requesting in your request.
    • Please make sure the source is correct.

Regarding books from other libraries at UA

  • Other university libraries will not deliver interlibrary loan materials to us
    • Bounds Law Library staff cannot go there to retrieve materials for journal editors
  • All materials that journal editors check out from other university libraries at UA should be checked out at those libraries and returned to those libraries
  • Bounds Law Library staff have no control over the items checked out at university libraries
    • So, please keep track of due dates as overdue books can result in considerable fines

Please comply with ILL due dates. The interlibrary loan system operates on goodwill, and our ability to borrow materials in the future depends on our timely return of these materials.
