Prepare to Practice Resources

Where to Start

As part of your planning process, you will want to pick a place to start. Several factors can go into this consideration. For example, if you have been given a citation, you are always advised to start with it. On the other hand, if you know nothing about a given topic, and you aren't given a starting point to work with, you should start with a secondary source. While you are more than capable of teaching yourself about a topic by reading cases and opinions, you will find it goes quicker to find a good secondary source and start there.
